At CPT, we require that each new patient receive an initial evaluation from one of our therapy team members. Please contact your insurance company to discuss what your specific plan covers.
-
We understand that financial concerns are a primary consideration when seeking therapy for your child. Our goal is to make therapy as accessible as possible, and we are committed to working with you to explore all available options. Our team can guide you toward alternative funding sources that may help you pay for your child's therapy. We also have a specific deductible program you can ask about. To confidentially discuss these options and your unique situation, please contact us directly.
-
Deductible: a specified amount of money that the family must pay before an insurance company will pay a claim.
Copay: a set amount to be paid by the family per date of service
Coinsurance: a percentage to be paid by the family per date of service
Out of Pocket Max: A cap, or limit, on the amount of money you have to pay for covered health care services in a plan year. Once this amount has been satisfied, 100% of covered services are paid for.
-
As a courtesy to our families, we verify your insurance benefits prior to your child’s initial evaluation appointment. To ensure you have a full understanding of your specific plan’s coverage, we highly recommend that you also contact your insurance provider directly. Ultimately, families are responsible for any costs not covered by their insurance, and we want to ensure you have complete clarity on your benefits.
-
We ask that you please bring your insurance cards and photo identification. For feeding evaluations, please bring your child’s preferred food(s). Initial evaluation appointments are between 30-45 minutes.
-
Once your child’s therapist has determined they are eligible for services, we will complete a detailed evaluation report and a plan of care. This plan is then sent to your referral physician for their signature. Once we receive the signed plan of care, our front desk will be in touch to schedule your child’s sessions. If we do not have an immediate opening that fits your preferred time, we will offer you our current openings while still maintaining your place on our waitlist for the time that works best for your family.
-
While we do not have a general waitlist for services, we do maintain one for our most sought-after appointment times. If you are looking for a late afternoon, evening, or Saturday appointment, you may be placed on our waitlist for that specific time. In the meantime, we can offer you a current opening that may work for your family while you wait for your preferred time slot to become available.
-
Parents are always welcome to participate, as we believe family involvement is crucial for your child’s progress and long-term success. However, we also understand that being a parent can be exhausting. We encourage parents to use the 40-minute session to take some much-needed time for themselves. This allows you to rest and regroup, while also giving your child the space to connect more deeply with their therapist and focus on the session. If you choose this option, the treating therapist will provide a summary of the session, including what areas and skills were targeted, and provide home programming recommendations for carryover outside of sessions. However, please note that at least one adult caregiver must remain on the premises throughout the duration of the session in the event of an emergency.
Due to our limited and busy space, we are not able to accommodate siblings or friends within our sessions. Siblings are welcome to hang out in our waiting area, with adult supervision.

Your child's progress is as unique as they are, and our goal is to ensure their therapy remains effective and tailored to their specific needs. Every 3 months, we complete a formal progress note that provides a comprehensive update on your child's journey toward their goals. In each session, we maintain open communication with families, regularly checking in to see what strategies are working at home and in the community and making adjustments as needed. This collaborative approach allows us to ensure your child is making meaningful progress both in and out of the clinic setting.
-
We believe that a collaborative approach is essential for your child's success. While our therapists' back-to-back schedules make it challenging to attend formal meetings, we ensure seamless communication in other ways. Our therapists are always available for quick phone calls or emails to consult with other professionals on your child's team. This allows us to share information and align goals efficiently, ensuring everyone is working together for your child’s benefit.
-
We complete these evaluations on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us so we can find out if we are the right fit for your needs.
