Providing occupational therapy services for children since 2017

Our Practice

It all started when…

Katie Coleman has always dreamed of building her own private practice since graduating with her Master's Degree of Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 2010. With her many years of experience within the pediatric therapy arena, Katie realized the limited amount of services provided to families and their children with special needs on this side of Connecticut. The idea emerged to provide pediatric occupational therapy services to those who require and benefit from intervention- and take as many insurances as possible! As a result, Coleman Pediatric Therapy, LLC was created in 2017. We are excited to see where this adventure takes us!

KATIE COLEMAN, Owner, Executive Director & Occupational Therapist

Katie has worked in various pediatric settings since 2010, which has given her an unique perspective on children with different abilities, as well as their families. Following her experience in early intervention and school-based settings, Katie opened Coleman Pediatric Therapy to bring much needed pediatric rehabilitation services to the Southeastern Connecticut area. She is trained in Therapeutic Listening, Astronaut Training, Handwriting Without Tears, Size Matters Handwriting, SOS Approach to Feeding, Zones of Regulation, and more. In addition to Katie's professional life, she enjoys spending time with her adorable golden retriever, reading, going to concerts and shows, and traveling.

Katie is registered with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and is licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Connecticut.

KAITLYN FARWELL, Clinical Manager & Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Kaitlyn is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant who started as a Fieldwork Student at Coleman Pediatric Therapy in 2018 and was officially part of the team as of March 2019. Kaitlyn has always loved working with children and being a part of their developmental journey. As a COTA, she enjoys being able to be a part of all aspects of that journey and watching them grow.

Kaitlyn is always looking for opportunities to learn and expand her knowledge by attending various workshops and in-services in Handwriting without Tears, Keyboarding Without Tears, Zones of Regulation, Feeding Therapy: Sensory Motor Approach and more. When Kaitlyn is not working with her kiddos, she loves to spend time with her family, her two dogs, traveling and going on fun outdoor adventures; like hiking, snowboarding and driving in her Jeep.

Kaitlyn is registered with the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy and is licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Connecticut.
